(A helpful hint for viewing: press button F11 to view in full screen. You can press it again to return to the normal display.) Our traditionally styled church is located on the western portion of Fifth Avenue, just as it enters the township of Laurel Park, in Hendersonville, NC. Click here for pictures of our church. Our memorial garden is a place for rest, meditation and prayer. With a large wooden cross as its focal point, hemlocks, pink dogwoods, rhododendrons, azaleas, juniper and holly accent the garden. There are also bright displays of annual plants in the spring, summer and fall. Click here for pictures of the memorial garden. On most Sundays before services we hold an adult forum where we discuss topics of interest and how they affect society and our lives. Click here to view some recent pictures. If weather permits, and it has for the last few years, our Palm Sunday services are preceded by a prayer service on the church steps. There is a sound system so those who desire to sit inside can hear the beginnings of the service. Click here for these pictures. This year we had an Easter Sunrise Service at Jump Off Rock in addition to our traditional Easter Service at 11:00 in our church. Jump Off Rock is a park in Laurel Park, the township in which the church resides. Click here to view these pictures. The church members as well as the rest of the community enjoy our annual ice cream festival. In addition to the ice cream, which is a treat for all ages, there is entertainment for children of all ages and a variety of music. Every year the members of the congregation are invited to go on a retreat, usually held at the Blowing Rock Assembly grounds located North Carolina's high country between the Blue Ridge Parkway and Blowing Rock. The agenda consists of religious topics as well as fun and games for everyone. We have a luncheon for the members who are more than 90 years old in the fall of the year. We currently have more than 25 members of are in this age range with the oldest being 103. Transportation is provided for those who need it. Our Samaritans committee makes arrangements for the meal, transportation, and program. Click here to view the pictures.
